Anemone flowers appear all over the world, but most of its kind is native in Nort America. This flower got its name from the Greek word anemos which translates to ‘winds.’ That is why gardeners know this flower as Grecian windflower, poppy windflower, or simply windflower as it sways in the lightest breezes. The petals of the anemone blow open in the wind while the dead ones fly away.

Anemones are soft and simple with cup-like blossoms and lobed foliage. Some of its varieties have double flowers which are similar to an oversized chrysanthemum. The colours of this poppy-like flower are red, orange, yellow-green, blue, purple, red-purple, white, ivory, and pink.
