Cosmos

The Cosmos or the Mexican aster is native to Mexico and the southern part of the United States. The leaves of the Cosmos have a distinct appearance. They can be simple or pinnate and arranged in opposite pairs.

Cosmos flowers are daisy-like with a centre disc surrounded by a ring of petals. The petals can be golden yellow, white, pink, magenta, orange, yellow, red, and chocolate. The Cosmos plant grows a 31 cm to 2 metres tall and is often found in meadows. It is a traditional cottage garden plant and planted in front or the middle section of the garden.
