Hyacinths

Hyacinths (Hyacinthus) are spring-blooming bulbs that grow clusters of flowers. The Victorians adored hyacinths for their incredible, lingering fragrance that can perfume an entire garden. It grows 15 to 30 cm tall and 8 to 15 cm wide.

Hyacinths are best planted in groups. They come in single, double, and multiflora blooms in shades of white, cream, salmon, yellow, pink, rose, apricot, lavender, deep purple, cobalt blue, and wine red. The hyacinth flower is said to signify playfulness, sport, and rashness. Still, each colour symbolises a different meaning.
