Lisianthus, in a literal sense, means ‘bitter flower.’ It got its name because of the taste of the flowers which are used in herbal medicine. The flowers come in green, white, blue, pink, salmon, purple and lilac shades.
Besides its different colours, it also features varying styles. There are single and double-flowered variants, small and large blooms, and even some with fringed petals. However, all species of Lisianthius have long, slender stems.
